Triton alum Antionette Watson named Interim Head Coach of Edmonds Softball
LYNNWOOD — Former Triton standout catcher Antionette Watson has been named as the Interim Head Coach of the Edmonds College softball program. Watson, who returned to the dugout this season as the Associate Head Coach, has been elevated to interim head coach after Grizz Stevens recently stepped down for personal reasons. “We appreciate everything Grizz did the past two seasons. He worked extremely hard and leaves the program in a great place,” said athletic director Spencer Stark. Watson's first stint with the program was as an assistant coach in 2018-19 when the team reached the NWAC Championship Game. Watson prepped at Kamiak High School and played for multiple travel teams including the Woodinville Reign, Slam Fastpitch, Blaze Fastpitch, and the Washington Hurricanes. As a Triton player, Watson was a two-year team captain, team MVP, and a 1st-Team North Region catcher, batting over .400.
