Baseball earns split at Everett behind Uemoto’s quality start in nightcap
EVERETT – Edmonds baseball was able to come away from Funko Field with an important split against Everett CC on Saturday to open NWAC North Region play. Everett broke a scoreless tie in the opener when they tallied two runs in the bottom of the fourth; the Trojans added two more in the sixth. The Tritons pushed two runs across in the top of the eighth inning when Connor Bourbon singled with the bases juiced but Everett held on for the 4-2 win. Cameron Hougham was 2-for-4 with a double in the fifth, and single in the seventh. The two teams combined to muster just 7 hits in the game Starter Kaden Lewis had his earliest exit of the season, going 3 2/3 innings, but he allowed no earned runs. Kade Coombe came on to relieve him and had his longest stint of the year, hurling the final 4 1/3 innings, giving up just one earned run.
