Triton alum Antionette Watson named Interim Head Coach of Edmonds Softball

LYNNWOOD — Former Triton standout catcher Antionette Watson has been named as the Interim Head Coach of the Edmonds College softball program.  Watson, who returned to the dugout this season as the Associate Head Coach, has been elevated to interim head coach after Grizz Stevens recently stepped down for personal reasons.    “We appreciate everything Grizz did the past two seasons. He worked extremely hard and leaves the program in a great place,” said athletic director Spencer Stark.  Watson's first stint with the program was as an assistant coach in 2018-19 when the team reached the NWAC Championship Game. Watson prepped at Kamiak High School and played for multiple travel teams including the Woodinville Reign, Slam Fastpitch, Blaze Fastpitch, and the Washington Hurricanes. LYNNWOOD -- Edmonds College softball is seeking applicants for the position of assistant coach for the upcoming year. Summary The position will report to the interim head softball coach and athletic director, and be involved with all aspects of the softball program. Pay is a $2,100 stipend, but there is opportunity for part-time hourly work within the athletic department, to earn money for organizing and working softball camps throughout the year, and for overseeing athletic department fundraising events.  Duties and Responsibilities Assist in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the program; Coach/Teach athletes and assist with day-to-day activities; Support the head coach in maintaining a competitive and successful program; Comply with NWAC/ NCAA rules and regulations and support Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) and Edmonds College Philosophy and Mission; Promote program on campus and in the community (player volunteer work, camps
